How does 2ApplyVerify Work?

If enabled by your agency, 2ApplyVerify will provide an applicant who is applying for one of your properties in 2Apply with the option to verify their passport, driver's licence and/or Medicare card via GreenID, instead of providing their ID details and uploading images of the documents.

GreenID will verify the applicant's name and the document with the document issuer or official record holder.

You will be provided a 2ApplyVerify certificate that verifies the applicant's name and document, rather than the documents themselves.

This means that you and your agency no longer have to receive and store documents containing sensitive personal details when processing applications.

What is GreenID?

GreenID is a product provided by our trusted identity verification provider GBG. For more information about GreenID and GBG, visithttps://www.gbgplc.com/apac/.

How much does 2ApplyVerify cost?

2ApplyVerify is free for agents to use. The applicant will pay a small fee for the verification service.

How will I know what documents have been verified?

We have integrated 2ApplyVerify with the Required Documents section in 2Apply, which is where the points for any verified document will be displayed in the categories you have nominated.

Under the terms of use of the verification service, we are not permitted to provide further details of the verification.

Where are the applicant's ID details stored?

Nowhere! An applicant that uses 2ApplyVerify exclusively will not have their ID details stored anywhere within 2Apply.

They will enter some details into 2Apply, but any ID details will not be saved. The details will be sent directly to GreenID for the verification process, and GreenID will not store the details either.

What if my agency doesn't want to use 2ApplyVerify?

With 2ApplyVerify disabled, an applicant will be required to provide full document details, along with a copy of the document with their application.

This data will be securely stored by InspectRealEstate and provided to your AppTracker users when required.

What if the applicant chooses not to purchase 2ApplyVerify?

As a fee is payable by the applicant, the use of 2ApplyVerify is optional.

If the applicant chooses not to use 2ApplyVerify, they will be required to provide full document details, along with a copy of the document with their application.

This data will be securely stored by InspectRealEstate and provided to your AppTracker users when required.

Can I make 2ApplyVerify mandatory on all applications?

No - 2ApplyVerify cannot be mandated.

As there is a fee related to the verification service that is payable by the applicant, it is important that applicants are given the option of using 2ApplyVerify.

In future, this new feature may be further developed to make it possible for agencies to pay the verification fee on behalf of each applicant. If that occurs, agents may be able to make 2ApplyVerify mandatory for applicants.

Can I do a National Tenancy Database (NTD) on a 2ApplyVerified applicant?

Yes - an agent-initiated NTD check can be performed on a 2ApplyVerified applicant even though you do not have any ID details.

When the NTD request is initiated by the agent, an email / SMS is sent to the applicant requesting them to log in to 2Apply and provide one of their verified documents again. This is required because IRE does not have the data either.

How can IRE ensure that a 2ApplyVerified document is used for the NTD?

During the 2ApplyVerify verification process, IRE keeps a cryptographic hash (SHA256) of the verified document details. This "hash" is compared to the "hash" of the NTD document and if both "hashes" match then the details are the same.

IRE does not store the original document details and the original details cannot be determined from the "hash" that is stored.

Refer Cryptographic hash function on Wikipedia for more information as to how hashing works securely.

Does 2ApplyVerify store any ID data?
No - IRE does not store any ID details when an applicant uses 2ApplyVerify.

While IRE will store a cryptographic hash of verified ID data, the actual data will not be stored.

The original data cannot be recovered from the cryptographic hash.

Can I still complete a TICA check with no ID?

Yes - the instructions can be found here
